The most pressing risk and compliance questions in house lawyers are asking (On Demand)

Question mark

This event took place 9 July 2024

In-house counsel are the strategic risk advisors to their organisations and critical to the industries in which they work. The fact that the in-house sector is the fastest growing legal sector reflects this.

However in-house counsel and teams must balance their role within the organisation with their duty to the court. They must understand the needs of their internal and external stakeholders by building trusted relationships and influencing, whilst also identifying and advising on the risk and compliance factors.

In a time when the SRA has turned its focus to the in-house counsel community with their Thematic Review in 2023 and their publication of draft guidance targeted to in-house this year, we reflected on the issues and challenges they face and offered constructive discussion and advice.

This session discussed:

  • Regulatory duties as an in-house solicitor
  • Best practice solutions, policies and procedures
  • Managing and negotiating with internal clients
  • Relationship with the SRA
  • Litigation pinchpoints
