This online session is your opportunity to hear directly from the Law Society’s policy team and private client and estates committee. Focusing on law reform and legal developments, we’ll be exploring:

  • the Law Society’s policy programme
  • lobbying activities in key areas of reform
  • legislative updates and government proposals affecting private client work
  • practical developments and best practice for will preparers including issues arising in burial disputes, executor removal claims, testamentary capacity, social facade and will construction

This informal conversation is your chance to ask questions and share the issues affecting your day‑to‑day practice. Your insights will help us develop our policy work and support best practice across the private client sector.

Charlotte Garvey, Policy Adviser, Law Society

Charlotte is the Policy Adviser for Private Client and Tax Law at the Law Society. In this role, she works closely with experts on the Private Client and Estates Committee and the Tax Law Committee to shape the Law Society’s policy positions and proactive work. Prior to the Law Society, Charlotte worked for the Queensland Government in Australia, including roles at the Public Guardian, Public Trustee, and Queensland Revenue Office.
