This webinar took place on 23 September 2024 as part of the Dispute Resolution Section annual programme of events. The content of this webinar was proposed by our Dispute Resolution Section Advisory Committee for the benefit of the Dispute Resolution, Private Client and Competition Section members.

As cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology gain wider adoption, disputes related to various aspects of this technology and associated assets are becoming more frequent. Whilst legislation is being considered to respond to the legal dilemmas posed by these new technologies, the courts of England & Wales continue to grapple with these developing technologies. Our expert panel consider these legal developments with particular focus on the following:

  • Recent case-law focusing on crypto-asset fraud.
  • How regulatory and statutory reforms may intersect with the case-law.
  • Predictions on future trends.
  • Practical guidance on managing disputes.
