On 7 May, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) published two new guides designed to help consumers to navigate the home buying and selling process.
They set out information about the process generally, the different professionals involved (including their roles and complaints processes), the steps towards completing a property transaction, and where to find further information. Consumers need to know about the process and the parties involved, as well as having information about the property itself. We are pleased that the government has engaged with the Law Society and other stakeholders to prepare these guides.
The Law Society is committed to an open, transparent and efficient conveyancing process. We are working with government and other stakeholders to make improvements. Providing the right information to consumers at the right time is key. These guides should provide a useful common point of reference for consumers and others involved in the process.
