Paused in 2019, the Law Commission have restarted a project to review proposed reforms to laws around making a will
The Law Commission embarked on its wills reform project in 2017, but ultimately paused the project in 2019 to focus on a consultation on weddings at the government’s request.
Now that the weddings consultation report has been published, the Law Commission have restarted their will reform project.
The project concerned proposed reforms to modernise the processes and laws on making wills. As three years have passed since the consultation was paused, and as the pandemic had such an impact on making a will, the Law Commission will re-engage with stakeholders to develop their final policy.
