Property Section

The Property Section is looking for two committed and enthusiastic residential or commercial property practitioners to join our committee.

The Property Committee develop the Property Section offering with the aim of providing guidance and support dealing with best practice and innovation, updates and news, analysis and events and policy information aimed at law firms, legal practices, sole practitioners, and in-house solicitors. The Section focuses on the full range of property law including, conveyancing, commercial practice, technology, process, and policy.

We are now looking to appoint additional committee members.

We aim to have a regionally diverse mix of committee members and welcome applications from those with experience of working in residential and commercial practice or supporting property practitioners, including but not limited to:

  • Commercial property solicitors¬†
  • Planning solicitors¬†
  • Property tax specialists
  • Landlord and tenant solicitors
  • Contentious property solicitors
  • Practice Managers
  • Solicitors working for financial institutions
  • In-house residential / commercial property solicitors
  • Those with experience of cross-border transactions / deals

To apply, please email communities@lawsociety.org.uk your CV along with a statement of up to 500 words outlining how you can contribute to developing engagement with the Property Section community, including practical examples.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • a sound knowledge and understanding of the key issues and challenges,
  • an interest in the Property Section,
  • the experience and drive to deliver support,
  • and an ability to represent the ideas and views of practitioners within this field.

The deadline for the return of applications is 22 January 2018.

Appointments will be made on merit following an open and transparent process. A selection panel will consider the applications and shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 2 February.
