On 1 October 2020, changes to the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) come into force, including to the rules for contempt of court proceedings.
In this webinar, members of the CPR Committee introduce the new “one stop” procedural code in the revised CPR Part 81. The rules have been revised to make them more fair and easier to operate.
The event is free of charge and takes place on Thursday 8 October from 5pm to 6pm.
Lord Justice Coulson, chairman of the CPR Committee, will introduce the webinar.
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions of the CPR Committee members, as the event concludes with a brief Q&A session.
- Brett Dixon (Law Society Council member and chair of Law Society Civil Justice Committee).
- Mr Justice Kerr (chair of the subcommittee responsible for drafting the new rules) will explain the rule changes
- His Honour Judge Nigel Bird (designated Civil Judge, Manchester Civil Justice Centre) will give a perspective from a busy civil justice hub hosting County Court and High Court proceedings.
- Dr Anja Lansbergen-Mills (barrister at Exchange Chambers, Manchester) will provide a perspective from the Bar.
