The Law Society’s Property Section is hosting two roundtables in February for solicitors working in residential/commercial property law and for those working in small-medium sized firms book now as spaces are limited

  • small-medium sized firms roundtable – Wednesday 26 February at 4pm to 5pm (online only)
  • residential and commercial Roundtable – Thursday 27 February at 5pm to 6pm (in-person at 113 Chancery Lane)

The aim is for property solicitors to provide feedback on the working draft of the Law Society’s forthcoming practice note on climate risk and property, which we aim to publish in 2025.

This essential guidance aims to support solicitors navigating the complexities of climate-related risks in property transactions, from physical and transition risks to legal liability considerations.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • review and critique the proposed best practices for advising clients on climate risks
  • explore practical challenges and opportunities when implementing the guidance in residential and commercial property contexts
  • share insights and suggestions to refine the note for maximum clarity, utility, and professional applicability

Both roundtables will take place under Chatham House rules. Your contributions will play a critical role in shaping this guidance to ensure it meets the needs of solicitors and their clients in the evolving property market.
