This session will feature guest speakers from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), who will share the latest developments on the Act and the new consumer protection regime. The speakers will outline key changes relevant to businesses and legal professionals.

The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act [‘DMCCA’] came into force on 1 January 2025, marking the most significant reforms to competition and consumer protection laws in over two decades.

The consumer protection regime, which came into effect on 6 April 2025, introduces new rules tackling fake reviews, price transparency, subscription contracts and more direct CMA enforcement powers.

Legal directors in the CMA’s consumer protection leadership team will provide updates on the new regime, flagging key developments, what’s changed, and what you can expect going forward.

The speakers’ presentations will be followed by a Q&A with attendees. Participants are encouraged to submit questions for the CMA in advance when registering. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during the event.
