On the occasion of the anniversary of the arrest and detention of human rights lawyers and defenders in China, which started on 9 July 2015 (the “709 crackdown”), a joint letter to the Chinese authorities was co-signed (also co-signed by Lawyers for Lawyers, the CCBE and others).

The letter was an initiative of the China Human Rights Lawyers Concern Group and expresses continued concern regarding the situation of Chinese lawyers who are still in detention.
