This year’s Pro Bono Week will be held from 4 to 8 November 2019. Could you organise an event at your firm on Thursday 7 November?

The Pro Bono Week organising committee is looking for support from the profession and junior lawyers in holding pro bono events at firms on 7 November as part of Pro Bono Week 2019.

These events will celebrate the range of pro bono work that the profession undertakes and will highlight the personal benefits of doing pro bono, such as skills development and increased client exposure.

It’s hoped that colleagues who are not involved in pro bono will be inspired to give it a go.

What you could do

You could:

  • ask your firm if they would support you in hosting a Pro Bono Week event on 7 November (or as near to 7 November as possible)
  • get together a panel of speakers within your firm with pro bono experience – including junior lawyers – to discuss their pro bono work and the impact it has had on their lives and careers
  • invite your colleagues to come along and get inspired to undertake pro bono work themselves
  • invite interested people from outside the firm to showcase your firm’s pro bono initiatives

If you’re interested in hosting an event at your firm and need more of a steer, contact Mary Dobson from the Pro Bono Week committee for more information.
