Date: Tuesday 2 October Location: London Time: 08:30 – 17:20, followed by a formal dinner from 18:30 – 22:30.
On the back of our first, and very successful English Law Week in Mexico this September, we are pleased to present the annual Lex Mex event, which The Law Society have co-organised with the Mexican Chamber of Commerce since its inception six years ago. We are also delighted to collaborate with The Bar Council of England and Wales on the event, for the second year running.
The event will take place on October 2, and will kick off with a full day conference consisting of interesting and topical panels, to include: An ’Update on the Mexican Legal market and Commercial Litigation’, and ’Arbitration in Mexico’, amongst others. All the sessions will be led by leading legal professional from both Mexico and the UK.
The conference will be followed by a formal dinner, to be held at the City Grange Hotel (further details on the conference and the dinner venues can be found at the bottom of this page).
The event is designed to foster closer relations between the English and Mexican legal professions. It presents an excellent opportunity for English and Welsh lawyers to meet with leading colleagues from Mexico, and vice versa, to discuss recent developments, challenges for working in the jurisdiction, and opportunities for collaboration between British and Mexican law firms.
Mexico is forecast to become South America’s largest economy during the next decade and is an increasingly important trade and investment opportunity for UK companies in a wide range of sectors, including banking and finance, insurance, infrastructure and energy.
The Lex Mex conference will take place at Barnard’s Inn Hall – Gresham College (30 Holborn, London, EC1N 2HH) 08:30 - 17:20. A full conference programme is available here.
The Lex Mex dinner will be held at the Grange City Hotel (18-14 Cooper’s Row, The Gallery and The Crown Room, London, EC3N 2BQ) 18:30 - 22:30.
