Read about our successful conference in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Following on from our successful English law conference in 2017 and request from members to host another event in Kyiv, the Law Society in partnership with the Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA), and the British Embassy in Kyiv organised the third English Law Day Forum in Kyiv on 21 March. The conference was supported by the British Ukrainian Law Association (BULA) and the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA).
The conference was an opportunity to further develop legal links and business with practitioners from both countries.
Over 100 delegates attended the event from the UK, Ukraine as well as neighbouring countries and discussed the recent developments in English Law and the current trends for working on cross border and international matters.
On the eve of the conference, our president, Christina Blacklaws hosted a women in leadership in law roundtable with leading female practitioners from Kyiv. The roundtable was an opportunity to explore key trends and brainstorm ideas on how to tackle gender inequality and to increase the number of women in leadership positions in the legal sector. The event was organised in partnership with the UNBA, UBA and the British Embassy in Kyiv.
