On Wednesday 3 October, we welcomed a delegation of twelve members from the Bar Council of India (BCI) at the Law Society of England & Wales.
Joining the delegation was BCI Co-Chairman, Suresh Chandra Shrimali.
Our President and Vice President chaired a roundtable discussion with the BCI and representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Solicitors Regulation Authority, Bar Council of England & Wales, and British High Commission New Delhi. Members from the international team also attended.
India recorded the highest exports and imports growth among the leading Asian traders according to the World Trade Organisation’s 2018 report. This week, the president of World Economic Forum, Borge Brende, predicted that it could become a USD 5-trillion economy in the next five years and USD 10-trillion economy in the next decade-and-a-half.
We look forward to continuing to work together with the Bar Council of India on opportunities and engagement between our legal professions.
