The Law Society has met with various government departments and secured agreement that law firm offices can remain open during the new national lockdown in England.

The new lockdown came into force in England at 12.01am on Thursday 5 November and will last until at least Wednesday 2 December.

Solicitors and law firm staff should work from home if possible but if this is not possible, they can leave home to work in the office.

Solicitors must try to see clients remotely and deliver services virtually, but again if this is not possible then face-to-face meetings are permitted.
