The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has published the findings and recommendations from its market study into the residential property management services sector in England and Wales.
Representatives of the Law Society met with the authors of the study to discuss the issues relevant to conveyancing solicitors, and the report refers to some of the points that were discussed at the meeting. The study recommends wider adoption of the industry developed Leasehold Properties Enquires form.
The CMA has concluded that, while the market works well for many leaseholders, some experience significant problems. In light of the findings, the CMA has made a number of recommendations aimed at improving the way the market works.
