HM Treasury is expected to issue a call for information in the new year in relation to buying a house.
HM Treasury has published a paper entitled ‘A better deal: boosting competition to bring down bills for families and firms’. This paper follows the ‘Fixing the Foundations; creating a more prosperous nation’ paper published in July this year.
The government aims to reduce barriers for supermarkets and estate agents to offer legal services ‘like conveyancing, probate and litigation’.
There will be a call for evidence in the new year ‘exploring options to deliver better value and make the experience of buying a home more consumer friendly’.
More information will be provided once the call for information is provided.
