The Law Society operates a number of accreditation schemes to set and maintain standards in a specific area of law. We are recruiting for a number of assessors to assess applicants for accreditation against the accreditation standard.

The accreditation standard is achieved by the Law Society, the chief assessor and assessors working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including members and consumers.

We are recruiting for the following accreditation schemes:

Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation– planned launch 2016

• chief assessor (closing date 30 November 2015)

• assessors (closing date 7 December 2015)

Family Mediation Accreditation

• assessors (closing date 27 November 2015)

The chief assessor appointment will last for a duration of three years and the chief assessor will receive £550 per day for an expected commitment of eight days per annum. If the scheme requires significant review or development during the chief assessors’ appointment, a separate agreement will be reached on the additional number of days work is required.

The assessors are responsible for assessing applicants for accreditation against the accreditation standard. Assessors will receive payment for each assessment carried out.
