Training for Tomorrow: a new approach to continuing competence

The publication of the Legal Education and Training Review (LETR) report in July 2013 signalled the start of a significant programme of reform of the SRA’s approach to education and training. In Training for Tomorrow, the SRA response to the LETR report, they announced their intention to replace the mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) scheme for solicitors with a new approach to continuing competence. This consultation set out their currently preferred approach to continuing competence and other possible approaches.
