We are pleased to announce the results of our recent executive committee elections.

Congratulations to Manda Banerji (vice chair), Callum Reed (student representative), Hannah Bignell, Jonathan Hodge, Leah Caprani and Oliver Grech for their election success.

Our new executive committee is headed by Charlotte Parkinson, incoming JLD chair.

We would like to thank all those who stood for a position and the JLD national committee for their assistance in the election process.

Outgoing chair Amy Clowrey says:

“Following the JLD executive handover weekend on 9 to 10 November, I have now formally stepped down from my role as chair of the JLD and have handed over to the new chair Charlotte Parkinson (formerly vice chair). I wish Charlotte and the new executive committee members the very best of luck.

“Thank you to the outgoing executive committee members Nicola Wilding and James Kitching, along with all other committee members, for their dedication throughout what has been a hectic year.

“We have achieved a great deal over the last 12 months which has only been possible due to your consistent hard work and untiring determination. I am excited to see what you achieve over the coming years on behalf of junior lawyers.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed representing junior lawyers over the past four years and chairing the JLD the last year.

“I would just like to take the time to thank our membership for engaging with the JLD committee and supporting the work we do. This input has shaped our policy work, particularly regarding the Solicitors Qualification Examination. I wish you all the best for the future.

“I would also like to thank our immediate past-chair, Adele Edwin-Lamerton, for her direction particularly as I was finding my feet as chair.

“Finally, I would like to thank the Law Society and particularly Simon Davis, the Law Society president, for offering your unwavering support to junior lawyers and the guidance you have provided to me over the last 12 months which has been invaluable.”
