The Law Society has published a series of papers for solicitors in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

In that scenario, the EU and UK will have failed to sign both a Withdrawal Agreement (governing the terms of the UK’s departure from the EU) as well as an agreement governing the future relationship between the two parties. This will mean the UK leaves the EU with no transition and in many areas, cooperation between the UK and EU will cease, and the applicable legal regime in many practice areas will change on 29 March 2019.

To support members, the Law Society has provided guidance on what steps solicitors can take in a no-deal scenario in the following areas: civil and commercial cooperation, providing legal services in the EU, data protection and family law.
