The Law Society has sent a letter to Nepalese authorities to express concern around the safety of Badri Bhusal, a Nepalese lawyer, human rights defender, and chair of the Collective Campaign for Pease - a national network of 43 peace and human rights non-governmental organisations from 29 different districts in Nepal.

Badri Bhusal has represented clients in high-profile cases, has reported on prison conditions, and has advocated against the use of torture by the police.

The Law Society and Lawyers For Lawyers have called on the Nepalese authorities to promptly investigate all threats of intimidation and harrasment against Badri Bhusal and provide guarantees that the state and its security forces will not interfere in the legitimate activites of Mr Bhusal and other human rights defenders.
