The Law Society sent an intervention letter to the Guatemalan President expressing its concern over the murder of the HRD Alegria Robles in Guatemala. 

Ms. Robles, a transgender leader and human rights activist of LGBTI rights in Guatemala, was found dead on 18 November 2016 in her home, with signs of extreme violence on her body.

The Law Society respectfully called upon the Government of Guatemala to carry out an effective and impartial investigation on this murder and guarantee the right to life, physical integrity, freedom of expression and other human rights to all activists in the country.
