Hungary

Hungary is a democratic parliamentary republic. Today, it is an upper-middle income country with a high Human Development Index. The population was just under 10 million in 2014 and the estimated total GDP for 2015 is USD 145.153 billion. Hungary is a member of the European Union, NATO, the OECD, the Visegrád Group, and the Schengen Area. Hungary is a civil law jurisdiction with 14,000 practising lawyers.

Hungary is a civil law jurisdiction. The main sources of law are the Constitution, the acts of Parliament, and the governmental, ministerial and municipal decrees.
