The British Albanian Lawyers Association (BALA) will be hosting a talk by high profile barrister and judge Sir Geoffrey Nice QC. The talk will be followed by a drinks reception.

Sir Geoffrey Nice QC led the prosecution of Slobodan Milosevic at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. He has practised as a barrister since 1971 and is a Professor of Law at Gresham College.

In the 2007 New Years Honours Sir Geoffrey Nice QC was made a Knight Bachelor for his services to international criminal justice in and for the former Yugoslavia; and between 2009 and 2012 served as Vice-Chair of the Bar Standards Board, the body that regulates barristers.

Sir Geoffrey Nice QC has been a part-time judge at the Old Bailey since 1984 and has sat as judge in other jurisdictions, tribunals and inquiries. He works for several NGOs and lectures and commentates in the media in various countries on international war crimes issues.
