Our 2015 International Marketplace conference on 1 July brings together delegations from key emerging markets who want to develop their legal business and contacts in the UK.

We meet some of the lawyers coming over from China, Latin America and Africa to find out more about their legal markets, opportunities for Law Society members and why they are coming to London.

This year our flagship conferences looks at opporutnities for law firms going global. Industry experts and leading lawyers will share their insights on the global legal market, with panels on developing an international strategy and workshops on emerging markets. Find out more and register .

China

The delegation from China includes 14 lawyers from Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai.

Yang Yuhua , partner with is a partner at Llinks Law Offices in Beijing, wants to build reciprocal working relationships with mid-size UK law firms doing business in China, she is particularly interests in opportunities in corporate and commercial law, and cross-jurisdiction dispute resolution. Hu Bingmei , senior partner at Yingke law firm in Shenzen, sees great demand for English and Welsh legal services as Shenzhen companies invest or plan to invest in the UK, plus there are many investment opportunities in Shenzhen for UK companies, especially in technology. , tells us about her legal life in Shenzhen and the secrets to doing business there. Steven Yu , a partner at Hiways law firm in Shanghai, predicts more see more opportunities to work with UK law firms and their clients in the near future as Chinese companies and individuals become more active in pursuing international markets, particularly in M&A.

Latin America

The Latin American delegation includes lawyers from around the region. Carlos Francisco Camacho , Junior Partner at Arias & Muñoz and part of our Latin America delegation for International Marketplace, shares his views about legal life in Costa Rica. Francisco Urrutia, partner at Posse Herrera Ruiz in Bogota is joining the Latin American delegation to meet with lawyers interested in doing business in Colombia. He says there are many opportunities in the market for new projects, in infrastructure, natural resources, retail and the financial, insurance and service industries, among others.

Africa

Lawyers from Botswana, Zambia, Uganda, Nigeria and Ghana join the African delegation at the conference.
