National call centres for court enquiries will open next year as the government takes the burden away from under-staffed regional court.

Writing in her regular blog, HM Courts and Tribunal Service chief executive Susan Acland-Hood said the new Courts and Tribunals Service Centres will provide a national online and telephone service to help court users.

The two centres, part of the six-year £1.2bn programme to modernise the court service, will also begin work doing administrative tasks that take cases forward in a ‘consistent and professional way’.
