On 1 October, the Law Society hosted a delegation from Kyrgyzstan to formalise our cooperation with the Advocatura of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstan Bar Association).
Chair of the Advocatura, Gulnara, and Vice-Chair, Gulniza , and two representatives from the prosecutors general office met with Law Society President Joe Egan and the International team to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and discuss issues of mutual interest.
The Memorandum will provide a framework through which we can deepen the mutual knowledge and understanding of our professions and professional bodies and continue to develop a positive and mutually beneficial relationship.
The Bar Associations agree and undertake to each other that they shall work together in every way they can to assist the development of friendship and co-operation between their respective legal professions. .
The Advocatura and the Law Society share the goals of enhancing the rule of law, human rights and access to justice in their own jurisdictions as well as internationally. They also committed to exchange knowledge on recent developments in the law of their respective jurisdictions and provide continuous education, training and development for members, including through joint seminars and trainings.
