The Brazilian British Exchange Programme (BBEP) for young lawyers is jointly organised by the Law Society of England and Wales and the Bar Council in partnership with the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB) and Lex Anglo-Brasil.

A review of all applications has been carried out in recent weeks and the Law Society’s Americas team are delighted to announce the ten lawyers participating in the BBEP for this year, are:

The Programme, now in its third successful year, will see a group of Brazilian lawyers participating in a four week programme in London, which includes a short bespoke academic programme at BPP Law School, placement in solicitors’ firm and barristers’ chambers and a series of legal seminars. Jonathan Smithers, president of the Law Society, said: “Brazil is a key market for our members and the success of the ongoing exchange programme highlights the valued and strong relationship we have with the Brazilian Bar. This scheme supports international firms to develop business in Brazil by building constructive relationships with lawyers from some of the country’s leading law firms.”
