The Diversity and Inclusion Charter

The Charter is the flagship diversity initiative of the legal profession. It is an instantly recognisable public statement of commitment by its signatories and a framework for positive action across all strands of diversity.

The Procurement Protocol

The protocol has been designed to give organisations who purchase legal services the peace of mind that they are using law firms who share their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Equality and diversity requirements: SRA Handbook practice note

This Law Society practice note sets out the equality and diversity requirements in the SRA Handbook. It includes examples of behaviours which may enable adherence to the outcomes, as well as examples of behaviours which would not. It also sets out how the Law Society can assist you and your practice in this area.

Collecting, reporting and publishing diversity data practice note

This Law Society practice note briefly sets out the rationale for the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s requirements to annually collect, report and publish data on the diversity of their workforce, and highlights the key points for practices and individuals.

Equality Act 2010 practice note

This practice note aims to provide solicitors and all staff concerned with the management and day-to-day running of solicitors’ firms with a summary of your duties towards staff and clients under the Equality Act 2010.
