Join us in Kuala Lumpur for sessions on Brexit and women and the law
The Law Society of England and Wales is delighted to participate in the international session of the International Malaysia Law Conference, from Thursday 16 to Friday 17 August 2018, at the Royale Chulan hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We invite you to join us.
From 15:15-16:30 on Thursday 16 August we will host a working group session on “Global Britain: Trade between the United Kingdom and Asia Post-Brexit”. Our incoming President, Christina Blacklaws will chair an interactive discussion about the impact of Brexit on UK-ASEAN trade. Speakers include Malaysia and UK experts. You can learn more about our Brexit work by attending this session or online.
Christina will be back on stage at the invitation of the International Bar Association to chair their working group session on ”Women in the Law: Congregate, Communicate, Collaborate” from 16:45-18:00 on Thursday 16 August. Women in leadership in the law is one of Christina’s two presidential priorities and we recently conducted the largest ever international survey on gender equality in the legal profession.
The conference is organised by the Malaysian Bar Council. It is being sponsored by Trowers & Hamlins and Herbert Smith Freehills.
