The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) is to launch a selection exercise for recorders on 1 February 2017, and it is anticipated that this will mark a return to a programme of regular competitions.

In February, the Indonesian government ordered that all instant messaging providers in the country remove LGBT themed emoji and stickers from their apps.

In March, the Chinese government implemented a ban on all depictions of same-sex relationships on television.

Diversity Access Scheme now open

Applications are now open for the Diversity Access Scheme. The Law Society's Diversity Access Scheme is a scholarship with a difference. It provides opportunities for more than funding, but contacts and opportunities for work experience.

There is also an opportunity to fund this amazing project, if you or your firm are in a position to do so
