The JLD will be responding to the following consultations:

The Solicitors Qualifying Exam

Solicitors Regulation Authority: A new route to qualification – the Solicitors Qualification Exam

The SRA has published the second consultation on proposals for a new route to qualification – the solicitors qualifying exam (SQE). This consultation sets out more detail about how they are proposing solicitors might qualify in the future – and specifically about the SQE. The SRA has taken on board the feedback from the earlier consultation and have revised and developed the proposals. The consultation sets out how the SQE would fit with preparatory training, including work-based learning and how it should be able to assure high professional standards.

The Junior Lawyers Division will be responding to this consultation and would welcome input from the JLD membership.
