The vote by the UK to leave the EU has created uncertainty, and potentially opportunity, for junior lawyers.
Leanne Maund, chair of the Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) said:
’The JLD chose not to comment on arguments surrounding the referendum, as there were junior lawyers supporting both sides. It was important to us that all junior lawyers voted based on their own conscience.
‘The JLD will continue to support our members during this time of uncertainty and hope that together we can continue to enhance the reputation of the solicitors’ profession in England and Wales and act in the best interests of our clients.’
Maund’s comments follow those of Law Society president, Jonathan Smithers.
The EU referendum on 23 June will lead to a surge in demand for legal expertise and guidance. The Law Society will provide regularly updated information, advice and insight for solicitors.
