Join us for Legal Pride 2016
On Saturday 25 June, members of the Law Society, Bar Council, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), Interlaw Diversity Forum for LGBT Networks (InterLaw Diversity Forum), Bar Lesbian and Gay Group (BLAGG), The Bar Council, Freebar and the Junior Lawyers Division will once again parade through the streets of London.
We will be celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) diversity in the legal profession under the banner ‘All are equal under the law’.
To register to march for equality with the legal sector in the PRIDE in London parade, please email us .
We will provide banners and t-shirts for those marching.
Pre-Pride drinks will be held at the Law Society Offices at 113 Chancery Lane on Friday 24 June from 18:00 until 20:00. Please RSVP via email
The official meeting point for the legal sector will be Portland Place at 12:30. The parade will start at 13:00.
A post-march party starting immediately after the parade ends will provide ample opportunity for networking and socialising.
Equality for all under the law is a principle that the legal sector as a whole supports and works to promote. Lawyers are advocates of equal rights for all, whether that be challenging those who make unjust decisions, or defending those who face discrimination of any kind.
This year’s Pride theme is #nofilter, to emphasise that no one should have to live their life pretending to be someone they’re not. The legal profession is joining in with the theme with our message: #lawwithnofilter - All are equal under the law.
Whether you can join the march or not, please support our campaign by tweeting a selfie on 6 June using #lawwithnofilter.
It’s easy to get involved. Take a photo of yourself holding a sheet of paper with your name, what you do, and your LGBT or ally identity. For example ‘John Wills, solicitor, I have a husband #lawwithnofilter’ or ‘Sophie Taylor, adviser, straight ally #lawwithnofilter’
Thank you in advance for your support.
