The JLD committee is pleased to announce that its charity of the year for 2016 is Help for Heroes.

Leanne Maund, chair of the JLD committee for 2016, says: “Most of us have a friend or family member who has served, or is currently serving in our armed forces. As lawyers, whatever area of practice we work in, we uphold and maintain the rule of law each day. The rule of law in this country and abroad is what we fight for and protect from our offices and in our courts, and the rule of law is what our service men and women fight for all over the world.”

Help for Heroes is a charity founded in 2007, which aims to provide support for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women and veterans, and their loved ones. For more information about the charity, please see the Help for Heroes website.

We invite you to join us and support this great organisation by keeping an eye out for activities you can get involved in. At this year’s JLD annual conference and ball on 16 April there will be a charity raffle to fundraise for Help for Heroes. If you would like to donate a raffle prize please contact juniorlawyers@lawsociety.org.uk
