We are delighted to inform you that booking has now opened for this year’s Anglo-Dutch Exchange (ADE) – now celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Founded in 1966, the ADE is a biennial event for young lawyers from England and Wales and the Netherlands, which is hosted by each jurisdiction on an alternate basis. It is a joint venture of the Young Barristers’ Committee of the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales (YBC), The London Young Lawyers’ Group (LYLG) and most recently the Junior Lawyers Division of the Law Society of England and Wales (JLD), together with the Young Bar Associations of Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam.

The purpose of the ADE is to foster a better understanding of our counterparts’ legal and judicial system and of their commercial and cultural environments, and to establish closer links between the two jurisdictions.
Learn more about the ADE but in summary:

  • This year, up to 30 lawyers from England and Wales will be given the opportunity to visit the Netherlands for a four day programme.
  • The dates are Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 October 2016 at a cost of 350 Euros. Accommodation, activities, food and drink are included within the price. Flights are excluded.
  • This year’s programme will be spread over three locations: Amsterdam, the Hague and Rotterdam. The visiting lawyers will stay with host lawyers in each city, attending lectures with leading Dutch law firms and visiting cultural and legal landmarks (including the Dutch Supreme Court). One day will be spent in each city and the trip will end with a party.
  • Learn more about the programme and sign up
  • Places are allocated on a first come first served basis, but priority will be given to lawyers who hosted our Dutch counterparts in 2014.

The ADE working party forward to seeing you there!
