Junior Lawyers Division

March 2017

Welcome to the latest Junior Lawyer Update - the newsletter from the Junior Lawyers Division.

The JLD annual conference and ball on 8 April is rapidly approaching and we have a distinguished range of speakers, including our keynote speaker, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Hickinbottom, the second ever solicitor to be appointed to the Court of Appeal.

The conference is an opportunity for junior lawyers to develop their career and network with other junior lawyers from across the jurisdiction. Places are still available so book your ticket now.

We'll shortly be publishing the results of our survey of junior lawyers on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. We received over 200 responses, and the information we gathered will increase our understanding of our members' needs. Thank you to everyone who took part.

In the meantime we will continue to make representations to the Solicitors Regulation Authority on proposals for the introduction of a solicitors qualifying exam to ensure the best outcome for future solicitors and the profession.

We want to represent you so please let us know your views and concerns so we can speak out on your behalf.
