Join us at the Law Society on 14 February for the final Technology and Law Policy Commission evidence session on algorithms in the justice system.

The Law Society’s Technology and Law Policy Commission is examining how technology is used in our justice system and its impact on the rule of law.

The Commission is examining the use of algorithms in the justice system in England and Wales and looking at what controls, if any, are needed to protect human rights and instil trust in the justice system.

The Commission is taking oral evidence in public sessions from a multi-disciplinary range of experts including the academic community, technology developers, human rights experts, data scientists, ethicists, political scientists, law enforcement, and citizens’ groups.

The Commissioners presiding over the evidence gathering session are Law Society president Christina Blacklaws, Sofia Olhede (UCL) and Sylvie Delacroix (University of Birmingham).
