The Law Society has a wealth of information on how to become a solicitor and developing your career, including:

  • Becoming a solicitor - routes to qualification and membership of the profession
  • Becoming a judge - information and support for careers in the judiciary.
  • Diversity Access Scheme - a scheme to increase social diversity in the legal profession by supporting promising entrants from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Becoming a solicitor – JLD presentation for law students

Local JLD groups often give presentations at their local university law school to undergraduate law students interested in becoming a solicitor. To assist them the JLD has produced a set of powerpoint slides setting out the various routes to qualification and including information about finding a training contract.
