We are assisting the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong with a consultation on non-tariff barriers affecting businesses trading in Hong Kong. The consultation is part of a Strategic Dialogue on Trade Partnership with the Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong government to overcome non-tariff barriers to bilateral trade.

We are aware of some barriers and frustrations facing our members in Hong Kong, including the ease of moving staff to Hong Kong from other offices, hiring restrictions, business registration requirements, escalating office rents and low availability of school places for children.

If you wish to contribute, please complete the survey on the British Consulate-General’s website.

There is no deadline for the survey, but the British Consulate-General informed us they plan to finish consulting by the end of 2017.

You can choose to complete the survey anonymously.

For more information on our work in Hong Kong, email asia@lawsociety.org.uk.
