Ukraine is bordered with Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova, and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. It has an area of 603,628 sq kms with a population of about 44.5 million.
Ukraine is a unitary republic under a semi-presidential system with separate powers: legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Its capital and largest city is Kiev.
The Ukrainian legal system is a civil law system.
