Valeria Mancheva, head of relationship management (in-house) at the Law Society, explains what you can expect at this year’s In-house Division annual conference on 21 June.
At the Law Society, we understand the varied and multi-faceted role of in-house lawyers. In law, attention to detail is paramount. However, knowing how the detail fits into the bigger goals of your organisation in the current climate of regulatory, commercial and technological change is vital. Our In-house Division annual conference on 21 June will focus on the pressing issues.
The four plenary topics this year are heavy hitters – Brexit, the General Data Protection Regulation, modern slavery and technology. Each topic is assigned a chaired panel session with representatives from corporate, not-for-profit and public sector organisations, which is aimed at giving you practical advice and guidance to take back to your organisations.
We will discuss Brexit challenges and focus on how the legal team can seize this opportunity to make a strategic impact to their organisation. We will discuss how regulatory compliance is meaningful and valuable to the business, and also consider the strategic effect of technological advancement and innovation. Our four breakout workshops address important changes to corporate governance and transparency; how to add strategic value as a legal team; coaching and mentoring; and compliance – with plenty of time for discussion.
Please come and join us. Unlike other organisations, the In-house Division unites lawyers from many diverse organisations. We firmly believe that diversity matters, as the unique experiences that we can share at the conference will help all of us manage our future better.
