Human Rights Committee member Nick Howard examines the human rights situation in Wales from his perspective as lawyer for the Welsh Government.

Nick provides advice to the Counsel General (the Law Officer for Wales) and to the Welsh Ministers on devolution and legislative competence issues, including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights and the rule of law.

In this podcast, Nick explains the evolutionary nature of the devolution settlement and its relationship with human rights. He also touches upon the importance of the Human Rights Act, and what it means for the Sewel Convention.

A transcript can be provided upon request.
