The Law Society sent an intervention letter to urge the Government of Honduras to continue investigation on the assassination of the human rights defender Berta Caceres.

In the letter, the Law Society also expresses its concern over the number of cases of threats and harassment, including murders, of lawyers and human rights defenders in Honduras. In doing so, it reminds the Government of Honduras of its obligations under international human rights law to protect the work and ensure the safety of human rights defenders in the country.
