The Law Society is holding a workshop on 13 October at Bristol Law Society, 15.30 - 17.30, to hear about emerging developments in the area of business and human rights, and changing expectations of law firms.
We will discuss:
- key developments regarding business responsibilities to respect human rights;
- what these developments could mean for your clients and your practice;
- emerging expectations regarding how firms manage human rights risks associated with their client relationships, employees and supply chains;
- the potential implications of professional responsibilities for the way in which law firms respond to these developments.
The workshop is also an opportunity to hear from you - so we will encourage you to share your experience, perspectives and questions. For example:
- Do you perceive these developments to be relevant to you and your firm?
- How confident would you be if asked to advise clients on business and human rights?
- Is your firm already engaging with business and human rights issues, and if so, how?
- What concerns do you have about these developments?
- How can the Law Society best support you and your firm to build capacity in the area of business and human rights?
Your views will help us to identify how the Law Society can most effectively support its members to build knowledge and capacity in this area.
