2017 Horsfall Turner essay prize open for entries

The Horsfall Turner essay prize is a prestigious award given to the best essay submission on a given topic every year. It is designed to encourage young lawyers to engage with competition and European law. See below for details of this year's prize

It is a great way to distinguish yourself amongst your peers and help you grow your career – see the list of previous winners and their essays.

The prizes you could win are:

  • a first prize cheque of £1,000 or a highly commended prize cheque for £250
  • an invitation to the Competition Section Annual Dinner and Awards taking place on Wednesday 22 November at the Law Society (all prize winners will be seated on the Competition Section chair's table)
  • presentation of your prize by the annual dinner’s keynote speaker 

The Horsfall Turner essay question for 2017 is:

'What challenges does the digital economy present for the development of antitrust law?'

Essays should be no more than 2,500 words in length.

The entry deadline is 17:00 on Monday 9 October, download the entry form and rules.

We encourage you to start your essay as soon as possible.
