The president of the Supreme Court delivered a speech on the evolving role of technology in the legal process and its effect on the practice of law.

In an address to the British and Irish Commercial Bar Association Law Forum on 21 April 2016, Lord Neuberger reflected on the changing and adapting role of technology in three distinct areas of practice: the courtroom, the litigation process and as a generator of substantive rights.

Technology, he commented, is encouraging a more global approach to law-making and legal rules.
