The Civil Litigation Section is looking for two committed and enthusiastic Law Society members to join our committee

The Civil Litigation Section programme is shaped by the committee, This programme consists of conferences, workshops and online content which focus on assisting practitioners and encouraging best practise in the profession.

Ultimately, the committee are held to deliver the Law Society strategy by representing, promoting and supporting the legal profession.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint additional committee members. The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following specialisms and experience (however this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Land and estates
  • Contract
  • Commercial law

We will consider applications from all levels of experience including newly qualified lawyers, associates, sole practitioners and partners of firms. You may have specialist skills such as Higher Rights or a Judicial appointment.

To apply, please email your CV along with a statement of up to 500 words outlining how you can contribute to developing engagement with the to the Civil Litigation Section community, including practical examples.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • a sound knowledge and understanding of the key issues and challenges,
  • an interest in the Civil Litigation Section,
  • the experience and drive to deliver support,
  • and an ability to represent the ideas and views of practitioners within this field.

The deadline for the return of applications is 22 January 2018.

Appointments will be made on merit following an open and transparent process. A selection panel will consider the applications and shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 2 February.
