We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Law Society members to join the Civil Litigation Section committee.

The committee develop and design the Section programme, which includes conferences, events and online content focusing on supporting practitioners and encouraging best practice.

By joining the committee, you will be joining a group of like-minded professionals who are keen to make a difference when it comes to providing support and guidance for those working in civil litigation.

We have up to four vacancies for litigation and dispute practitioners of all levels of experience.

Candidates should be able to attend (in person or by phone) the five committee meetings a year and to contribute to the work of the committee at other times, including liason with litigation and dispute resolution practitioners and local law societies in the part of England and Wales in which they are based.

We particularly welcome applications from those based in Southern England, East Anglia, the North East of England, and North Wales.

To apply, please email your CV to Caitlin Padmore (product manager for the Civil Litigation Section) at caitlin.padmore@lawsociety.org.uk along with a statement no longer than 500 words outlining how you can contribute to developing engagement with the Section community, including practical examples, demonstrating an understanding of what you consider to be the important issues.

The deadline for applications is 28 February 2019.

Appointments will be made on merit following an open and transparent process.

A selection panel will consider the applications and shortlisted candidates will be contacted by 14 March 2019.

We aim to have a regional mix of members and are also interested in hearing from applicants who are currently on Law Society committees, including women and those from minority ethnic backgrounds.
